A Taste of Honey

With a mornings birding on the cards I set out just after dawn to the local reservoirs, Rudyard held very little but 105 Lapwing, Tittersworth was slightly better with a few LRPs, 3 Goosander & a couple of Oystercatcher. 7am arrived and I picked up bill then headed Into Notts for a bit of Raptor watching. Honey Buzzard was the target and after half an hour wait Common Buzzards took to the air with a Honey Buzzard in tow a few minutes later all of them catching the same thermal but the commons took a dislike to him and he disapeared for 10 minutes. At one point 3 Honey Buzzards were airbourne as well as around 8 Commons great for comparisons between size & jizz. I have had a few disapointments there in the past but not today a right good result. The journey back home took us through Derbyshire Dales were a Hobby was winessed harrassing swallows and vice-versa
