Mid Summer Birders

Again it was a local trip due to the time of the year and lack of birds to note nationally. Tittersworth on a bright sunny morn seemed much better than the week previous, all the same birds were on show Common Sandpipers ( with young) LRPs again doing well with the little ones. Duck were short on the ground and even more scraggy. I met Bill up on the Moors a few reasonable birds about, Hobby being the cream of the crop. Buzzards Curlews kestrels Redpolls Skylarks Linnets and comon warblers still knocking around. Alive once again with Meadow Pipits a Merlin would have a field day this time of year. Further north towards Longnor Redstarts, Nuthatches, Chiffschaffs & G S Woodpecker were seen. A quick flirt to the Churnet before heading home provided a hive of activity mainly from the fledgling Spotted Flycatchers cute little buggers if I do say myself
