16 May 2010 Great Reed Warbler

I was up again early think I'm getting to old for this. Anyway arrived Ilkinston at about 7am to be greeted a hundreds yards from the reed bed with explosive reedy song. Great it hadn't disappeared overnight. I was surprised at the size of reed bed it had made its home for a few days, very small indeed. The Big Brute was showing well for the half an hour i was there. I think I'm getting this Twitching bug. Two twitches already since my birding come back. Stopped off at Tittersworth on the way home very quiet Little Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper and a lone White Wagtail was the best i could come up with
