I had to go to Stafford today so I loaded my kit in the hope one of the Doxy Bitterns was still showing. I had half an hour at Cresswell Flash where Steve G & and few other lads had seen the bird earlier in the day. With no luck there headed to Boundary, luckily the one there showed very well although pretty distant. Other birds around the reserve were Water Rail w
ithin a few feet Shovler, Gadwall, Teal, Goosander & Wigeon on the unfrozen patches. A couple of Buzzards were chilling in the bushes as was GS Woodpecker. 3 Barny Geese were with the Canadas as normal. Right good result & plenty of other birders were in the same boat
