Tittersworth & Willington
It seems like a life time since me Bins have been slung around me neck I finally manged a day out. First on the cards was the local to see if the Red Crested Pochard was still at Tittersworth from the day before. After a walk all along to the dam it became obvious they had left. There was a good number of ducks on the ice free part of the reservoir possibly 150 Wigeon many Teal, 32 Goosander, a dozen Pochard and about the same Tufties. A call from Bill saying he was home meant a little trip to Willington Gravel Pits the plan was to go there & onto Foremark for the gull roost but the fog in Derbyshire put pay to the latter. Willington was frozen solid so it was a wait to see if the owls came out to play. Short Eared Owl was first one up again mist spoiled it a little although it did come pretty close. The Barn Owl didn't show before the fog really settled but we did get One of the roosting Bitterns. A couple of weeks ago Short,Long & Barn owl were criss crossing each other, some sight I guess
