With lots of waters in Staffordshire & Cheshire tempting Arctic And Black Terns down I decided to see if I could winkle one out at Rudyard. Nothing at the shallows except Swallows & Sandmartins but half way along I noticed something sitting on a buoy Result. Well not exactly after setting the scope on it the Arctic soon became a Common Tern it was still nice to see in our neck of the woods. A walk along looking for Woodland species produced Great Spotted Woodpecker, Blackcap, Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers with the pick of the spring migrants a male Redstart. If i was ever to go down the slippery slope of patch watching I do think it would be here as it is under watched in general.
