Myself and Bill headed into Derbyshire to Middleton Moor as its a place I have never been. On arriving it looked super for passage birds lots of shallow water and short grass but it didnt produce much. 6 Wigeon about 20 Teal a few Tufteds & Coots and a lonely Snipe. were about all. Heading home we decided have a couple of hours in Gods acre North Staffs moors. The fog was quite dense but did look stunning lingering in the valleys. Quite a few birds on the move large flocks of Martins & Swallows feeding up above the woods then heading south. A few Wheatears were knocking around but by far the best Bird was a male Merlin passing through it even parked up for a few seconds. Goods news arrived when I got home my Nikon p300 wasnt repairable and have sent me vouchers for a Nikon p310 so its Jessops this week.
