I had limited time this morning so I met up with Rich on the moors to spend an hour wondering around. At least 4 Ring Ouzels were around North Staffs moors and plenty of Wheatears. Willow Warblers have finally arrived and in Numbers, 2 at Gun Hill a few a Tittersworth and around the Roaches. Good numbers of Red Grouse were moving around and calling. Rich managed a Merlin before I arrived I had to make do with Buzzards. Waders number were quite high Curlew the most numerous.
I called quickly back at Titts and a large number of Swallows had arrived with them an odd Sand Martin has summer arrived? If the temperature today is anything go by we are still a long way off.
