Gun Hill
With heavy showers persistent through the morning I though it had to worth an hour at Gun Hill. The resident Stonechats came in pretty close and at least 3 Wheatears were there, but a little distant. Whilst watching them another bird hopped onto the fence showing a nice white flash of white on it head. Its many years since I have seen Whinchat on the hill so it was certainly worth staying put an hour. It never ventured closer whilst I waited with camera in my hand. A Redstart caould heard singing, again a fare way off and I never caught a glimpse of him. A quick drop into Tittesworth got me diddly squat even with high hopes as the heavy showers continued.
