North Staffs
The plan to go further afield this weekend went to pot due to beer. So a few hours Sunday was all I could muster. Gun Hill was cloaked in a low mist so it was straight to Titterworth. Surprisingly not a lot had changed on the bird front but the reservoir is filling up. A couple of small flocks of Fieldfare passed through heading West. 30 or 40 Lapwing were on the far bank with the Black headed Gulls. Wigeon were again around the island and Teal were on the conservation pool. Rudyard on the way back home held nearly 300 Lapwing and amongst them near on 50 Snipe. 17 Wigeon were also around the shallows but not many Teal. A quick check of the Black Heads produced diddly.
