Staffordshire's moors

Sunday I managed a few hours up on the moor. Twenty minutes with a peregrine then it was off to find some ouzels. Two hours spent on the west moors proved  fruitless and the day prior a small ouzel clan was about,I'm now told. There wasn't many Wheatears either on the west side but a lot more east. Perhaps something do with the horrendous winds. Golden plover numbers were well down from my last visit but visible grouse were evident everywhere. Not a lot to note in general up there but an enjoyable few hours birding my favourite area.
