Golden delights

  An American Golden Plover was reported late yesterday at Pickerings Pasture on the Mersey, A quick phone call to Bill after a look at the photo we decided try for it this morning. On arriving I thought this is going to be tricky with masses of Golden Plover around luckily is wasn't as it stuck out like a sore thumb. We had an hour with it and noticed it was bullied quite a bit by its slightly larger relatives. A great bird as it wasnt out of summer plumes as yet and certainly worth the short journey. Well done the finders.
